Specially designed for AMI patients with acute total occlusion suitable for PTCA.
Rapid exchange catheter that combines a single lumen in its proximal section (stainless steel hypotube coated with Teflon) and a double lumen in its distal section.
The external lumen of the distal section is designed with a progressive diameter to obtain a dilation dotter effect , and it presents 4 distal holes for the perfusion of drug or contrast fluid.
The proximal lumen allows the use of a guidewire to advance the catheter into and through the stricture. On the proximal length of the catheter are two markings that, in the absence of fluoroscopy, help position the catheter in relation to the guide catheter tip.
The marker closest to the catheter luer is for guiding position from femoral access and the farthest for brachial/radial access. In the distal section, close to the tip, there are five radiopaque markers to locate the lesion to be treated and allow its length to be measured* under fluoroscopic vision conditions (0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 mm).
*lesions less than 40 mm.
Amicath II® incorporates a stylet and a sheath as protection elements for the distal section.
